NYCE TILT SENSOR
Reviewed on 01/31/2016
Tilt sensor is very easy 2 install & test. Nice small size and blends well into white or light decor. Item case should be improved. It's note as secure as it should be. Mounting tape and screws are included, but the tape isn't that secure or strong. Use your own mounting tape and/or the screws. Works as specified and you can have it beep when opened. Price could better though.
It does what it says

Compact and solid; installs in seconds. No instructions in the box so went to lowes.com. LED light never blinked inside to tell it joined or was joining. I used mine on a garage door. Installed on the topmost segment of the door so it actuated as soon as possible when the door traveled on the track. Comes with battery (up to 5 year life? Forgit Aboudit!), teeny tiny screws, and tape pads to stick it on. Just set IRIS to add new device, slide it open, pull the battery tabby thingy (put the battery back in when it comes out...ensure you put the + side UP) and your in business. Once joined, just set the device settings to use it horizontal or vertical, and whether to use a chime when opened. Final note, make sure it's hidden because it is very easy to open and disable.
Trigger for Mailbox
Reviewed on 06/19/2014
The sensor has to be in the 'open' position for a few seconds before it will report its status to IRIS. It doesn't work for me as a mailbox notification because the mailbox lid is only pushed open for a second and that's not enough time to trigger a notification. I'll have to go back to using a door contact.
